The development of China's marine paint market will reach its peak in 2011

marine paint refers to the paint specially used for ships. Sub ship primer (anti microbial corrosion), water line paint (coating material that has been in Shishi Xinghuo aluminum products Co., Ltd. for 310 years, focusing on the research and development of new materials for aluminum products under water and air change conditions), deck paint (wear-resistant), cabin paint, etc. The marine coating market roughly includes four categories: Marine newbuilding, ship repair, military ships, yachts, etc

in China's coating industry, ship heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating is the earliest field open to the outside world. Since the mid-1980s, China Merchants took the lead in establishing Shenzhen Haihong coating Co., Ltd. with Danish HEPP company. In the early 1990s, the world shipbuilding industry shifted to East Asia. International coatings (IP) and Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd. established an IP company in a joint venture. Subsequently, Kansai, Japan, Jotun, Norway, Netherlands makaron, Ameron, Korea KCC, etc. followed suit one after another, or set up factories in China in a joint venture or sole proprietorship. Its market has gradually expanded from ship containers to the field of industrial heavy corrosion protection. At the end of the 1990s, most of the internationally famous marine heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating companies landed in China and occupied a considerable share in the medium and high-end market. In recent years, Chinese local enterprises have also been growing through their own efforts, and now they are also showing a good momentum of development

China's shipbuilding industry grew rapidly: from January to September 2010, China's ship delivery increased by 35.5% year-on-year.

it is understood that in 1995, China's shipbuilding output was about 2.5 million dwt, surpassing Germany for the first time, ranking third in the world, but only accounting for 5% of the global output that year; From 2003 to 2008, China completed 94.63 million (deadweight) tons of shipbuilding, with an average annual growth rate of more than 35%; In 2009, China completed 42.43 million tons of shipbuilding (a year-on-year increase of 47%), accounting for 34.8% of the international market share; 26million tons of new orders were received (a year-on-year decrease of 55%), accounting for 61.6% of the international market share; 188million tons of hand-held orders (a year-on-year decrease of 8%), accounting for 38.5% of the international market share, ranking second in the world; From January to September 2010, China delivered 13.28 million CGT (45.82 million deadweight tons) (35.5%), higher than 1.2 million CGT in South Korea. By the end of September, 2010, China's hand-held orders were 51.93 million CGT (36.4%) and South Korea's hand-held orders were 46.16 million CGT (32.4%), which shows that China's shipbuilding industry has grown rapidly. In 2010, the delivery of ships will surpass South Korea for the first time, ranking first in the world

although the world encountered a rare financial crisis in 2008, resulting in difficulties in the shipbuilding coating, steel, shipping and other industries in the whole shipbuilding industry chain, with the gradual recovery of the current market, the development space of the shipbuilding coating and other industries will also be larger and larger

characteristics of the marine coating industry: more than 90% of the marine coatings are monopolized by multinational companies

since the beginning of the 21st century, China's marine coatings have entered a golden period of rapid development and become one of the fields with the fastest development of the coating industry, the earliest integration with the world and the largest market share of industrial coatings. However, in terms of the current development of marine coatings in China, its development path seems to be hindered, which is specifically manifested in the following characteristics

1. About 70% of repairs and shipbuilding are exported, but the proportion is gradually decreasing, and the proportion of national ships is on the rise

II. Shipowners require painters to provide maintenance paint at major ports in the world

III. shipowners have a greater say in the choice of painters

IV. The classification society is becoming more and more strict in the certification of ship coatings

v. more than 95% of marine coatings are monopolized by multinational companies

VI. domestic enterprises mainly serve military ships. The development of marine coatings in China will reach its peak in 2011

with the rapid growth of shipbuilding industry, marine coatings are also growing at an annual growth rate of 25%

the sales volume of marine coatings in 2004 was about 80million liters (about 100000 tons); In 2009, the sales volume of marine coatings was about 300million liters (about 380000 tons, accounting for 5% of China's total paint output)

after several years of rapid development of shipbuilding, especially the year-on-year growth of 47% in 2009, China's shipbuilding industry has developed rapidly. However, due to the lagging effect of the global financial crisis on the shipbuilding industry, the shipbuilding industry will continue to grow in 2010 and 2011, surpassing the output in 2009, and may decline in 2012, but the decline will not be too large

it is estimated that the ship coating will reach its peak in 2010 and 2011; It will be a difficult period from 2012 to 2014. However, it is expected that after 2015, with the revival of the shipping industry, it will develop further

at present, most of the marine coatings market is monopolized by multinational companies. However, some domestic marine coatings enterprises focus on the military ship market, workshop primer and a small part of the domestic ocean going ship market. This result is mainly due to the lack of product innovation by domestic enterprises and the lack of ability of research units to transform product research into the market. Below, the author summarizes four feasible schemes for the development of domestic marine coating enterprises, hoping to help the development of domestic enterprises

four suggestions for domestic marine coating enterprises

I. corporate strategy: whether to establish a foothold in the marine coating market and enter the international market of the marine coating industry? Firstly, the increase of ship owners in China has brought rare opportunities to domestic enterprises; Secondly, the transfer of China's manufacturing industry to the mainland also brings a large demand for inland river ships (and ocean shipping). China's ship coating enterprises can take this opportunity to strive for more market share

II. Enterprise operation and management: first, the establishment of a modern sales team; Secondly, modern enterprise production and operation management, including cost, efficiency, quality, safety, environmental protection and other management

III. accelerating the reserve of technical personnel: appropriate and leading products (including services) are the basis for enterprises to survive and maintain a leading position in the market. Compared with Chinese multinational companies, domestic enterprises may have certain advantages in the reserve of technical personnel. Why do you say that? There are two reasons. First, although foreign enterprises have established R & D centers in China, the main research is still carried out in their foreign department for total determination of Hb, HRB (or HRC) and HV hardness values, and the R & D personnel lack a sense of achievement; Second, the scale of foreign enterprises is huge, the project approval is cumbersome, and their domestic personnel lack decision-making power. For these two points, domestic enterprises are relatively superior

IV. strengthen product innovation: that is to say, strengthen the development of high-performance, construction friendly, environmental protection, health, safety, energy-saving and other products. Develop raw materials with excellent performance (mainly epoxy resin, epoxy curing agent, etc.) with domestic raw material suppliers who are in a wait-and-see mood, so as to have an advantage in price. In addition, domestic enterprises also need to speed up the development of epoxy general primer, solvent-free epoxy primer suitable for construction and high-performance, oil-saving and environmental friendly antifouling paint

the above four points are some suggestions for domestic marine coating enterprises, hoping to help the development of domestic enterprises. At the same time, it is also hoped that China's marine coatings will become more and more involved in Chinese books, newspapers, printed pictures and other printed materials; The manuscripts, typescripts and design drawings are large and occupy a place in China's marine paint market. Let the domestic shipbuilding industry enjoy the high-quality products and services of local enterprises
